This exhibit consists of drawings done by Gary Palmatier and Robaire Ream while passing time in a room at the
Hotel Californian inSan Francisco during the 1997 Seybold Conference on Electronic Publishing. The game of Tac-o-Tac is played by two or more artists who take turns working on a single drawing. First turn alternates from drawing to drawing, and a turn is over when the pad is passed -- or taken away. Each artist's contributions can enhance or confound the intentions of the others. The drawing is generally considered consummated by consensus, but an artist can at any time sign his name and thereby unilaterally declare it finished.
If you find any of these drawings disturbing, please remember that this is just a game. Any profound psychological significance you may infer is entirely the result of your own interpretation -- so watch out!
